The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) was established in terms of section 30B of the Pension Funds Act No.24 of 1956 with effect from 1 January 1998 to investigate and determine complaints lodged in terms of the Act. It is funded in terms of section 30R of the Pension Funds Act by way of a levy imposed by national legislation and collected by the Financial Services Board.
